Important Server Information / SlimeFun Basic Guide - WIP
« on: June 07, 2017, 05:55:11 PM »
This is from the old Ultimate Skyblock server. SlimeFun will no longer be a thing.
SlimeFun Basic Guide

To get started, do "/sf guide" in-game. This will spawn a book in your inventory, called the Slimefun Guide. When using it (Right Click like you are going to read it) it should open a menu with different categories. You can unlock recipes/items by clicking on them and spending vanilla experience levels.

You will want to start with some of the Basic Machines. Most of them have Multi Block recipes for placement on your island, shown in the pictures in the next section. When viewing a Multi-Block Basic Machine in the Slimefun Guide, on the bottom rows it shows the input-output for that machine. For example, with the Grind Stone, one of the crafts you can do is input Cobblestone and output Gravel. When crafting in the Enhanced Crafting Table, you place the items how the crafting recipe shows in the book into the Dispenser part, then right click the Craft Table, and retrieve your crafted item(s) from the Dispenser.

Basic Machines:
Most of these pictures were obtained from https://github.com/TheBusyBiscuit/Slimefun4/wiki/Basic-Machines

Need to add Automatic Ignition Chamber

Pressure Chamber: Cauldron + Glass + Dispenser facing down + 4 Pistons + 2 Stone Slabs

Magic Workbench: Bookshelf + Crafting Table + Dispenser

Ore Washer: Cauldron + Oak Fence + Dispenser

Saw Mill: Crafting Table + 2 Oak Wood + 2 Iron Bars

Automated Panning Machine: Cauldron + Wooden Trap Door

Juicer: Dispenser facing up + Nether Brick Fence + Glass

Composter: (Crafted machine) Cauldron + 6 Oak Wood Slabs

Protection & Claiming - You are able to protect an area with "/land" in a spot that hasn't been previously claimed. You may have a total of 6 claims. Doing "/land" in a claimed region opens a menu with options to add/remove players from the region, set the greeting and leave messages, and the ability to remove the region, as well as a button that opens up the flag menu. The flag menu includes PvP, access to chests, damage to animals, enderpearl teleportation, interacting with blocks (Buttons, levers, chests, etc), mob spawning, potion splash, and entry. These options can be enabled/disabled. You may also set the flags yourself with /rg flag. "/land home" to bring up the menu to teleport to your different region claims.

The Economy
Spawn Shop: You can speak with the Traveling Merchant at /spawn or use /shop to access the spawn shop. There are various supplies you can purchase if you need them.

There are a few different ways to make money.
Job Center: There are many sell signs around the Job Center at spawn that you can sell to. As you rank up, you gain access to more farms and sell signs. The 2nd line of the sign shows what Rank you need to be to use it, and the 4th line shows how much each individual item will sell for.
User Shops: You can make a shop of your own to sell and buy items. There is a thread HERE that lists active shops and their warps. Once you claim a region, you can set a /rg tp to it if you wish by using the command /srt <regionname>. We have SignShop for you to use for your shop.

SignShop Info:
Check out this page for more info, or use /signshop in-game.

Place the chest you will have your shop items in. Put in the items and quantity you want to buy/sell for each time someone clicks.

Sign:
[buy] or [sell]
Description line
Description line
$(price)

Anything can go in the description lines.
Use a Redstone Dust to left click the chest, then the sign. This will link them.

For example, if you wanted to sell 16 Carrots for $25, put 16 Carrots in the chest. Make your shop sign like this:

[buy]
16 Carrots
for:
$25

Redstone in hand, left click the chest then the sign. Now that it's linked, you can stock the rest of your chest.

When you left click on someone else's SignShop sign, it will tell you what you're buying/selling, how many, and for how much. When you right click, you will buy/sell.

Auctions: Access to Auctions can be purchased in the Token Shop, /ts.

You can purchase items that you may want or need from the General Supplies NPC, the Traveling Merchant at Spawn.

Mini-games & Events - To add some extra fun to the server, there are various minigames and events that happen!
 • Mining Bonus - All players receive a random beneficial potion effect upon mining diamonds.
 • Treasure Hunting - You must be at least Citizen rank or higher to loot Treasure Chests. Periodically, 10 treasure chests appear randomly in the world. The location coordinates are broadcasted when this happens. There is also one hidden chest. After the Treasure Chests spawn, you have 15 minutes to find them before they despawn. New ones spawn after 15 minutes.

"/tre" will show current treasure coordinates and how soon they will clear. "/tre near" will show how far away each treasure is from your location. There is a broad range of rewards you are able to obtain. Chests spawn with a Tier 1-5 assigned to them. "/tre rewards" gives a menu showing a list of rewards for each tier.

You can use a compass to help point you in the right direction. Right Click with it to choose which Treasure it should point towards. You can also Left Click and it will run "/tre near" for you.

 • Word Games - Occasionally a word game will appear it chat. It will be "Type ____ as fast as you can!" or "Unscramble ____ as fast as you can" or a math problem, or Minecraft trivia. The winner will receive a prize, which could be money, iron, or diamonds.
 • Multiplier Monday - Each week, every Monday a random multiplier will be applied to the JobCenter signs.

This multiplier can be seen using “/multipliermonday” and can be anything between 1.10 and 1.50, so there's a possible 10%-50% profit increase range.

 • Mob arena - Do /arena to travel to the Mob Arena.
Voting - Each day you can vote on our voting sites. You can do /vote in-game or go to the homepage of the /site and look on the left. After you've voted, do "/claim all" on the server of your choosing to receive your vote crates. Open the crates to get Vote Tokens with a chance to also get Diamonds. You can use the Tokens in the Token Shop by doing /ts or do /dod then click the Token Store button. You can also visit the Voting Merchant at /spawn downstairs at his stall. Check here for an in-depth look at the different voting crates you can get and their details. Below is a list of what you can purchase from the Token Store.

I am here today to familiarize you with the mob plugin we use on the server which is called MythicMobs.
MythicMobs is a very powerful and complex plugin, and this tutorial will cover the basics to get you started with scripting mobs.

There is a 'plugin manual' located here which i will be making references to,
and you should be referring to it often when scripting for MythicMobs.

MythicMobs commands can be accessed in-game using the /mythicmobs or /mm commands.
So what is MythicMobs?
MythicMobs allows server administrators to create custom variants of mobs and bosses.

MythicMobs Features
• Giving mobs custom skills with powerful conditionals and delays, based on a robust system of triggers and/or timers
 • Modifying all mob attributes such as health, damage, speed, follow and combat range
 • Allowing mobs to use custom sounds, custom particles, and special effects
 • Setting equipment and creating custom items and drop tables with attributes.
 • Giving mobs Damage modifiers so mobs can be immune to, take half-damage or double-damage from certain damage types, such as fire.
 • Creating powerful custom Mob Spawners to spawn your Mythic Mobs at specific locations, with optional timers, attributes, cooldowns, and other powerful settings!
 • Spawning Conditions to give you finer control over where and when Mythic Mob Spawner and Random Spawning mobs can spawn! Make mobs that only spawn when it's raining, or on certain days!
 • Mob Levels to allow your mobs to level up and scale in power based on where and how they spawned.
MythicMobs Folder Structure:

So let's just jump right into it! We will start with a mob that is located in the Cathedral dungeon. Once you know how to make a regular mob, bosses can be made in a similar fashion and they will just have more health and more damage, as well as the custom created skills and drops that you specify.

IMPORTANT: Never use Tab, always use spaces. YAML is very important!
Notepad++ is a very good text editor to use, and i highly recommend it.

WretchedZombie:

Mob Breakdown
WretchedZombie: (This can be any name, as long as it is unique to the mob you are making.)
Mobtype: zombie (All mob types can be found here.)
Display: '&4Wretched Zombie' (This will be the name of the mob that everyone will see in-game.)
Health: 75 (This is the amount of hearts the mob will have.)
Damage: 5 (This is the amount of damage the mob will do.)
Equipment: (This is where you specify what items the mob will have equipped on spawn.)
  - R_PearlescentMask:4
  - R_CrystallineBlade:0
Drops: (This is where you specify what item drop tables the plugin will use to roll for items when the mob is killed.)
  - Tier1Misc_Common
  - Tier1Exp_Common
  - Tier1_Rare
Options: (This is where you specify what options the plugin will attach to the mob. The full list can be found here.)
    AlwaysShowName: true
    MovementSpeed: 0.2
    PreventOtherDrops: false
So now that you understand how to create the actual mob, let's move on to something more exciting, custom skills!

Mob Skills:

There really is no limit to how you can have a mob execute skills, and what conditions the mob will execute those skills with. There are the built-in skills such as: fireballs, arrows, etc. Then there are the MythicMob custom skills such as Pull (Pulls all players within a radius towards the casting mob at a specified velocity), Consume (Consumes nearby mobs of the given type that are within a specified radius. This deals damage to those mobs and heals the mob for each mob consumed), etc. You can even have a skill that executes a command from another plugin for example. The only limitation is your imagination! (yay for rhymes!)

You can find the full list of skills available to use here.

This is Commander Malor, the first boss you encounter in Cathedral:

Notice the Skills:
Code: [Select]
  Skills:
  - skill SmashAttack >0 0.2
Here is the actual code for the SmashAttack skill:

Note the following after the skill:
Code: [Select]
>0 0.2These parameters are using the following variables: [hp_modifier] <chance>.
>0 means as long as the mob is alive, and 0.2 is the chance % the skill will activate while the mob is alive. (1 = 100%)
You can also use ~onTimer:500 >0 1 for example.

As you can see, things can get very complicated very quickly. Trial and error is the best way to learn so you can have the mob act exactly how you want.

Custom Items:

Next next section we will talk about are the items you would like the mob to drop upon death, as well as items you would like for the mob to wear on mob spawn. Once you create a custom item, you will then need to either add it to an existing drop table, or create a new drop table.

Let's take a look at one of the items from the Tier3_Rare drop table that i have created:

This is the code for the item:

Item parameters:

Items are fairly easy to make, however it starts to get complicated when your specifying the drop chances for all items within the specified Drop Table.

Conclusion:

You should now have a basic understanding of the MythicMobs plugin, and how to script with it. It really is a lot to learn, but the more and more you work with it, the easier it will become. It is a very powerful plugin, and it can do some really amazing things! If you still don't understand something, or have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to reply to this thread and i will try my best to help you. I look forward to seeing your mob contraptions in-game!  :D

Important Server Information / Helper Application Guidelines
« on: January 09, 2017, 04:08:44 PM »
Make sure you follow these guidelines:
Before posting, think about are you the most qualified player to post an application? You don't have to be the number one player on the server to be accepted as a helper, but you should have a general idea of how stuff works.

If you are not well liked among the other members of the server, applying would be useless. A helper is a person who is respected among the server, not because of his title, but because they have earned it from the other players.

If you were to be accepted as a helper you acknowledge that you may never be promoted to a moderator or admin.

Once you have submitted your Application, please be patient.  Your application will be reviewed by our staff.  You will only receive a response if you are selected to fulfill a Helper position.  Only apply once.
Do NOT ask about your application, here on the forums or in game.

We don't give a negative response for a couple reasons:
-  Sometimes we are not as familiar with the player or you are a newer player and we want to observe
-  We may believe you are not ready to fulfill the role as a member of our staff yet, but you may in time demonstrate the qualities we seek.
-  We don't want to have to answer the constant questions about why someone was turned down as a staff member.

We use the applications of those who have submitted to keep an eye on those who have shown interests in becoming a staff member.  While we may not immediately invite you to join as a member of our staff, we may approach you at a later time to see if you are still interested if we feel you demonstrate the qualities we are seeking.

Helper Duties:
Please note that the primary job of a Helper is helping players.  This doesn't mean joining a player's island and building for them but instead trying to answer questions about how to do something relating to in-game commands, questions about rules, and pointing players to resources that we have made available for them.  Such resources include the Tutorials thread, FAQ thread, and new threads that we may post relating to server happenings or upcoming events.  While you may be asked for other duties, these are some of the basic things we expect our Helpers to be able to do.

This job is important.   Higher level staff need this support so they are able to focus on other tasks.

Helper Perks:
 • Custom Plot on Creative Server to use for contributing builds for network.
 • Tab name will display as light green to all.
 • will be displayed on hover of name in global chat.
 • Access to Staff Chat channel. /sc <msg>/sctoggle.
 • Access to /kick and /tempmute.
* Helpers are given access to /kick and /tempmute in the event of a player that needs to be dealt with when no other Staff member is available.
These commands have their actions logged and abuse will result in demotion of rank.

You may apply for Helper here.
*Note: Please do not try to do this from a mobile browser. Must be done from a computer.

Ban Appeals / Notice to Community about Ban Appeals!
« on: January 07, 2017, 09:29:45 PM »
Nightwolf:

Quote
Ban Appeals are between the player that was banned and the staff. These are left open and view-able for the community to see because we want everyone to be able to see that we try to be fair in how we handle these appeals. This process is known as transparency. It helps to ensure that staff are not acting on bias or some level of corruption but instead keeping things fair, which is something I believe greatly in.

In almost all cases, if you managed to get banned, you have earned it. We do not just arbitrarily decide you need to be banned because we didn't like something you said that day or you had a skin we didn't like (though if you were using a truly offensive skin, a staff member may approach you concerning it).

We left the ban appeal section open so everyone could post in it. This serves a couple of purposes. This again allows us to have the ban appeals view-able by all instead of making it a form that is submitted to us and kept strictly between player and staff. The biggest reason to allow players to be able to post is so they can also present evidence either for or against a player that is appealing. Sometimes, players have additional screenshots and logs from their personal clients that can be submitted as additional evidence in a particular ban appeal. This is not for players to post their OPINIONS on how staff should handle the appeal. As players, we ask for your feedback in many areas, but ban appeals are not one of those except to provide evidence. Sometimes that evidence could be incriminating, sometimes it could be to help prove the player's innocence. Either way, we want that. But we do NOT need players telling us that they don't THINK someone should have been banned for what they posted in their appeal. In many of these cases, the person submitting the appeal has left out a LOT of detail. Either that the offense they are posting was only their last in a long line of issues or they are listing the smaller things they did and completely omitting the BIGGER things that they were caught doing and really banned for from the server.

Usually, if you give staff time to reply, you will find out more detail on the offense, especially if I am the one replying. I normally will try to find the staff member who did the banning (if it wasn't me) or locate the report on the ban and pull up the details. Once I have all the information about the ban, I will reply with not only the decision about the ban appeal but usually will shed more light onto why the player was banned (in cases where they didn't fully admit all the issues we had with them). This is done to help players understand the nature of that player's ban and the decision that staff reached.
